Our last week in Brazil brought us to the vibrant city of Recife, and it turned out to be the perfect way to end an unforgettable trip. In this video, we explore the historic center of Recife starting at Marco Zero Square, the point from which all distances in the state of Pernambuco are measured. From colorful streets to riverside views along the Capibaribe River, Recife quickly shows why it’s one of the most culturally rich cities in Brazil. We also visit the fascinating Casa da Cultura de Pernambuco, a former 19th-century prison that has been transformed into a marketplace filled with local artisan shops. Just nearby, we stop by Caixa Cultural, a cultural center that hosts exhibitions celebrating Brazilian art, photography, and history. Along the way we try traditional sweets like quebra-queixo, experience the joyful energy of Frevo, relax at Boa Viagem Beach, and even spend some time at Shopping Recife. Recife is famous for hosting one of the most authentic Carnival celebrations in Brazil, and even outside the festival season, the city's music, culture, and warmth make it unforgettable.
