Citing a report published by Motor Intelligence, a CNBC story from January 7, 2023, revealed that the Tesla Model Y was the 6th best-selling car in the United States in 2022. With such tremendous popularity, the electric SUV is immensely important not only for Tesla, but also a major proponent for EVs and their adoption by car buyers. First unveiled in March 2019, the Model Y hasn’t seen a noteworthy update yet – and come 2024, that is expected to change. While Tesla has maintained silence on the matter, the new Tesla Model Y is expected to bring changes to the exterior and interior of the well-liked EV. Apart from cosmetic tweaks, the facelift is also likely to introduce new features such as a swiveling touchscreen and a yoke-style steering system. As per a Tesla Tech Central report, customers of the updated Model Y can expect a new 800V electric architecture and an EPA-est. range of up to 400 miles! The updated Model Y will compete against the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and the upcoming Chevrolet Blazer EV in the U.S. market. As for its expected pricing in the states, the 2024 Tesla Model Y could start from around USD 50,000 for the entry-level Long Range variant.
