Communities around Kentucky have been enacting innovative enforcement techniques to tackle redevelopment of housing, commercial, and industrial properties. In this webinar we will hear from urban and rural voices about transformative changes happening on the ground in Hazard and Louisville. In Hazard, Bailey Richards (former Downtown Coordinator, City of Hazard) will speak to the revitalization of downtown Hazard through tax policies and entrepreneurial support. In Louisville, Richard Price (City of Louisville) will share about the City’s efforts to combine community engagement with code enforcement to tackle abandoned or deteriorated properties and vacant lots. He will also highlight a range of ongoing initiatives aimed at improving tenant safety and revitalizing neighborhoods throughout Louisville. These approaches are examples from a growing wave of policy implementations for community revitalization and dealing with potential brownfield sites that are applicable to communities of all sizes. If you have any questions about this webinar, please contact Tyler McDaniel with Blueprint Kentucky at tyler.mcdaniel@uky.edu ABOUT THE SERIES This monthly webinar series focuses on Brownfield redevelopment and downtown revitalization in Kentucky.
