Eco Friendly Home of D Narendra in Hyderabad - A Home Tour - Part 1 🏚️ Maa Nava Lokam ✅

Narendra and his wife firmly decided to construct an eco-friendly home. They know the challenges of this process. But they were firm in taking this agenda forward with a clear mind. This home at Gundla Pochempally, Hyderabad city is made of lime, bricks, locally available stones and mud. They used antique doors and windows (From Tamilnadu). The walls are constructed with lime mortar (from Rajasthan) and mud bricks (Mehaboobnagar). They used Jack arch for their roof. Experts from Pandicherry constructed these arches. They used old mangalure tiles (From Pandichery) to cover these jack arches. Local stones are used for flooring (From Tandoor). The manduva/ court yard of the home in the north east corner and collects rainwater. Bed rooms in the first floor have two levels that enable multiple uses at each level. Bay windows and cots that fit into these window help in better management of space. Kitchen is clutter free and minimalistic. There is hardly any plastic here. A small store room is also well organized and visually impressive. Recycled pine wood drawers are used in the kitchen. While the idea of this home is conceived by Narendra and his wife, Architect Varun Thautam not only translated this it into a reality, but also added a lot of value and life to it. All artisans are carefully selected and deployed, who are the real winners of the show. It is rare that some one made such huge decision to construct a eco-friendly home and actually constructed it in a mega city like Hyderabad.
