The initial checkout of a Duracraft Twindow Dual Window Fan in White, model DW-628. The unit is much older than I expected, it dates back at least 1994, potentially a few years earlier. This was one of the higher end models that Duracraft offered. I'm not sure if there was a competitor model in terms of feature set at the time, I don't know when Holmes got into the market of this form factor of fan. It boasts a 10 year warranty, which is well above average. Each of the fans is individually controlled with 3 speeds and reverse. There is thermostat operation, which is great for Spring and Fall when the days are warm but the nights still get uncomfortably cool. It's definitely seen some use over the years, the back of the fan which faces the window is experiencing considerable sun damage and the plastic is in early stages of decay. The indoor facing portion still looks decent. There's a fair bit of dirt and the bearings are close to locking up. A full clean and service should restore much of this unit's original luster and all of it's quiet performance.
