10 Step Professional Landscape Design Process - Explained

Parm's Landscape Management is a Full Service Landscape Company in Wisconsin. We are one of the few landscape companies in the area with full time Landscape Designers on staff. Our Landscape Design Process includes all of the following: Step 1 Initial Consultation We will discuss the following with you: • Your likes and dislikes • Your desired uses for our outdoor space • If any screening or privacy is needed • If there are any landscape plants or features you wish to keep • If you have drainage issues or concerns that need to be taken into account • Your overall vision for the completed project Step 2 Design Package Selection After we have had an opportunity to get a good understanding of what you are looking for, we will discuss which design package is most fitting for your specific design needs. Step 3 Site Analysis You have selected a design package and it’s time for us to get started. We will start by completing a thorough Site Analysis which will include: • Taking measurements • Curb appeal considerations • Views of landscape from house • Recognizing easements and lot lines • Location of any holding tanks or mound systems • Soil conditions • Taking note of sun exposer • Documentation of grade or drainage concerns • Awareness of overhead wires • Architecture style of house • Effects of snow and winter season on your property • Pictures to reference during the design faze Step 4 Completion of Landscape Design (First Draft) It’s now time for us to get creative and do what we do best! Our landscape designer will complete a first draft of your landscape design based on all of the information gathered during your initial consultation and site analysis. Your outdoor space is starting to come to life – on paper anyway. Step 5 Submit First Draft of Landscape Design to Client You now have the opportunity to see the our drawn-up ideas for your landscape and we are looking for some feedback from you! Take your time, look up those plant names and maybe even sleep on it for a few nights. Step 6 Client Thoughts & Feedback It is important to us that you are absolutely thrilled with your landscape design! After you had a chance to review your landscape design, we want to know your thoughts. If there are any modifications you would like made to the overall design, plant material or any other aspect of your design, let us know. This is your property and we want to be sure your landscape design is completed with YOU in mind! Step 7 Modifications (If needed) We listened to your thoughts and feedback and will now make modifications to your design based on our conversation with you. Your design package includes 1 or 2 modifications at no additional charge! Step 8 Completed Landscape Design Provided to Client Your landscape design is complete, and you now own it! Many landscape designers have small print which state their firm owns the landscape design after completion. Not at Parm’s! We will send you a final copy of the landscape design, and it’s 100% yours! We also have a desire to continue working with you to bring your design to life! Step 9 Product Selection If your landscape design includes a patio, retaining wall, firepit or decorative stone in the landscape beds; We will help you with the selection of products that will look the best on your property! Step 10 Proposal for Implementation Often implementing a landscape design is both one of the most exciting and one of the most challenging phases of your project. We will provide a detailed proposal to install and implement each aspect of your landscape design for you! If Parm’s Landscape Management completes the implementation of your landscape design, the cost of the landscape design is credited towards the cost of the project.
