Graestone Manor Bed & Breakfast is a large Victorian mansion that was built in 1865. The house is divided into two sections; The main house and the servants side or wing of the house. The original owners, the Root family, were a very wealthy family who bred thoroughbred racehorses. They had a quarter mile racetrack on the property at one time called ‘Roots Trotting Park.’ Reports of hearing the sounds of horse hooves and a carriage, as well as a man's voice and whistling have occurred on several occasions. The ghost of a woman, who we believe to be another former resident of the home, has been seen and caught on film looking out of the window at people standing outside. This ghost likes to follow people around, with many feeling an uncomfortable presence in several areas of the home. Reports of a vortex or portal area in the basement and another in the upstairs children's room have been attributed to Victorian seances being held in the home in the 1800s and Ouija board use.
