Life has me well in the strangest kind of way, In the chalk lines, in the jet streams, in the odd things people say. From the sidewalks of Manhattan to the clouds above the sea, Life has me well, and it’s still teaching me. Thirty‑two thousand feet up in an Airbus silver tube, Counting ratios of strangers like some airborne interlude. Business class was twelve to one, the pretty ones were few, Economy was younger, louder, and the numbers all skewed. I don’t know why I notice things that don’t mean much at all, Like who’s drinking red wine, who’s leaning on the wall.
