Micheál Martin has begun naming the new Cabinet, already moving some high profile names. Jim O'Callaghan is one of the big winners; in the last Dáil, the Fianna Fail TD for Dublin Bay South was on the backbenches but is now the new Justice Minister. Dara Calleary returns to the Cabinet table following an appointment as Minister for Social Protection. Notably, Darragh O'Brien has been moved from housing and will instead replace Eamon Ryan at the Department of Transport. James Brown is set to take over as Housing Minister. There is also a promotion for Mary Butler, who becomes the Government's new Chief Whip. On the Fine Gael side, the new Tánaiste, Simon Harris, will move to Foreign Affairs and Paschal Donohoe will return as Minister for Finance. Deputy leader Helen McEntee will take over at the Department of Education and Youth. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ 📱 Have you downloaded the Newstalk app?
