Frightening moment driver CRASHES into armed police car after high speed pursuit

On June 10, Marlon Henriques, 30, of Wylye Road, Tidworth, failed to stop for roads policing officers on Marlborough Road in Bulford after being spotted driving at 56mph in a 30mph zone. Henriques, driving a Volkswagen Arteon taken from a housemate, was then seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines and a pursuit was authorised, with officers needing to reach speeds of more than 100mph to catch up with him. He then failed to stop after officers illuminated their blue lights and sirens, instead overtaking a vehicle on the brow of a hill, nearly colliding with an oncoming army truck. On the approach to Tidworth, Henriques performed several dangerous overtakes in an effort to escape from officers. He then drove at around 85mph in a 30mph zone, driving through a red light on Pennings Road towards the A338. Henriques was detained and arrested. He was charged with aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance and remanded into custody. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment at Salisbury Crown Court today (14/08). He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months.
