Storing NYC TLC Plates (FHV License Storage)

On March 19th, 2020, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic in the United States, the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission created the For-Hire Vehicle License Storage Option. This option allowed owners, both individuals and fleets, of TLC-plated vehicles to put their vehicle license in storage for up to 90 days. The 90 day period was changed to 180 days as the pandemic lasted longer than initially thought. The primary purpose of the FHV License storage option was to allow vehicle owners, many of who were not utilizing their vehicles, to avoid paying costly commercial insurance premiums without losing their vehicle license. The following video walks through the steps of putting TLC plates (aka FHV License) into storage. We'll also have a future video about how to remove TLC plates from storage.
