Quilombola Education: In Search of Quality Teachings | Projeto SETA (EN)

In this video, we present an animation that traces the historical trajectory of quilombola education in Brazil. From the first quilombos to the most recent achievements, such as the implementation of the National Policy for Equity, Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations, and Quilombola School Education (PNEERQ) in 2024, the journey is marked by struggles and resistance. Although the PNEERQ represents a significant step forward in the inclusion and appreciation of quilombola education, there is still a long way to go to ensure quality, equitable, and inclusive education for all quilombola people. We must continue advancing, combating inequalities, and promoting access to educational opportunities that respect and celebrate quilombola culture and traditional knowledge.
