This is an older Gordak 952 soldering station that I had for at least 13 years. It has given me nothing but trouble ever since 2 years after I bought it. first the trace burned apart for no reason, then I had to change the small transformer connected to the back inside the unit and now I have to change this circuit with the three legs on it because it shorted out. there was also something else that is happening with this solder station, the two kind of large resistors that are connected in parallel are starting to look Brown and get kind of hot when I have the air on halfway or full. Yes, these are connected to the fan. I think I will buy another two resistors with the same value and connect them in parallel and see what happens or I can get heat transfer glue and glue a piece of aluminum onto each resistor.
