Looking for a beginner-friendly hike near Metro Manila with scenic views? Look no further than Mt. 387 in Nueva Ecija. It is also known as Batong Amat and it's called 387 because this area of the reserve spans for about 387 hectares. In addition, it's also called as the Chocolate Hills of the North because of the brown hills which can be seen from the summit. The hike is usually paired with a side trip to Aloha Falls which provides a much-needed relaxation after the strenuous hike. What I love about this mountain (aside from the views) is the rappelling portion upon descending the mountain. It seemed endless and seemed to go on for hours but to be honest I enjoyed it haha.
