— "Bourbon St. To The Cotton Club", the exciting musical of America's great Jazz era 1920's thru 1930's featuring the music that brought a nation to the dance floor. Master of Ceremonies Perry Gardner, an extraordinary comedian, accompanies performers that weave their way through medleys of songs and dances that launched American Jazz. The music of Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, The Dorsey Brothers and Louis Armstrong keeps toes tapping while the familiar melodies of "Darktown Strutters Ball", "Basin Street Blues" and "Alexander's Ragtime Band" bring back memories of the flapper era, racoon coats and speakeasys. The Cotton Club Dancers light up the stage with the great dance moves of the era including "The Charleston," and the "Lindy Hop" with Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing" and "Stompin' At The Savoy". The show begins with the celebrated Bourbon Street songs including "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" and "When The Saints Go Marching In" thru the early jazz greats of "Five Foot Two", "Bye Bye Blues" and "It Don't Mean At Thing If It Ain't Got that Swing" then on to the Al Jolsen years with "If You Knew Suzie," "Ma He's Making Eyes At Me" and "Toot Toot Tootsie". The Cotton Club finale Ain't Misbehaving" and Ol' Man River " brings the show home to a rousing finale. The Cotton Club horn band under the direction of Paul Couch plays powerful musical arrangements that reflect the emotions of the period. Perry Gardner's reappearing comedy sketches are sure to bring a smile to the audience throughout the entire production as they relive a memorable time in music history.
