J Team Tough Mudder 2022

Our first challenge of the year was the Tough Mudder 10k Classic which took place this May to commemorate Jacob's first birthday. The 'J-Team' (Not Fast, just Furious) faced a series of obstacles and mud runs that tested their physical and mental limits. Our team of 30 committed family members, friends and colleagues demonstrated their teamwork in overcoming obstacles, stepping outside their comfort zones and supporting team members whom they have never met before - all to mark Jacob's first birthday, whilst raising much needed funds for the Ashfield Trust. Our hope is to live in a way that makes our son in heaven shout " That's my mum and dad, and they're amazing!" Our beautiful son Jacob James passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday 18th May '21. After a safe delivery and 25 unforgettable hours of pure joy with him, his passing came as a heart wrenching shock for us all. Jacob was a much loved, healthy and happy little chap who showed no signs of illness, enjoying watching the rain and the sun through the hospital window as the day passed and the night fell. We are so proud of him. Jacob fell asleep peacefully in my arms after a feed and didn’t awake. Jacob James Murphy (JJ) 8:2lbs 17th May 2021. The Ashfield Trust helps to support the bereavement suites, fund specialist counselling for families, and provide items such as cooling cots and hand and feet castings, which enable parents to spend a little more time with their baby and create lasting and tangible memories.
