Hey everyone! So this is probably one of my most requested videos of aaaalllll time!!! And it took me this long to make it and post it because I was still trying to perfect it! I wanted to make sure I gave you nothing but the best. And this recipe has been the most consistent for me so far. With that being said, keep in mind depending where you are in the world this exact recipe may or may not work for you. Read below for more information on the ingredients: HENNA POWDER You have to get a good quality henna powder. The best are Jamila and/or Rajasthani. Jamila gives you a more creamy henna paste (perfect for dots) while Rajasthani gives you a very stringy type of paste (perfect for draping clean lines). In my opinion if you are a beginner I highly recommend starting with Jamila and then move your way to Raj. Jamila is a bit easier to use and get the hang of. Get henna powder that is high in lawsone content. Don't buy it from places like Amazon or Ebay, buy it from henna artist themselves because they know better! We study and perfect this art so we know what to do and what not to do, trust us! http://www.hennasooq.com SUGAR The ingredients will always remain the same, but the quantity of sugar will change. It comes down to the humidity in your area. The sugar helps the paste hold moisture causing it to adhere to the skin better (helps make it not flake off). If you live where there is less humidity you need to try and add more sugar. If there's high humidity add less sugar otherwise your paste will be runny on the skin. ESSENTIAL OIL You have to make sure you're using the right type of essential oil!! Keep in mind certain companies cut their oil with other liquids to up the quantity, these oils will not help you stain because they're bad quality. While this is the most expensive ingredient of this recipe, it's better to invest in a good oil and have it work, than a cheap one and have your henna not stain. The essential oils help break down the henna molecule helping the dye be ready to stain your skin, so it is definitely an important ingredient!! Do your research and make sure you're getting your oil from a well known henna source. (Aromatherapy oils will NOT work, neither will other oils like coconut oil, moroccan oil, vegetable oil...etc.) https://hennacaravan.com LIQUIDS Depending on what liquid you decide to use it could effect how long the dye release process will happen. Just test it on the skin like I showed so you know when it's ready. With all that being said, keep in mind you might not get it right on the first try, THAT IS OKAY! Please don't be discouraged, it took me about 2 years to learn everything from scratch, and then to test it, re-test it, and then test it again.Trial and error is the way to go to find the perfect recipe for YOU. Each henna artist I know has a different recipe, always the same ingredients but different qualities, but they all have great stains. Go with what is right for you. I think I changed my recipe about 50+ times before actually getting it right. And when you get it right it makes it all worth it! So good luck, and ask me questions below and I'll try and help! P.S Make sure to store your cones in the freezer! Otherwise it will go bad quickly! -Anjum xoxo Don't forget to Like, Comment, Share, and Subscribe!
