Surprise! You didn't think I was going to go down to Suffolk without stopping somewhere on the way did you? That just wouldn't be me! Welcome for the very first time on TVI to a village in Cambridgeshire, one of the loveliest counties in all of England - and if you don't believe that then you soon will when you've got a load of the first few villages in the district of South Cambridgeshire. So here we go with the first of 103 in this part of Cambridgeshire which encircles the City of Cambridge. This one's got a lot to get stuck into, including a property which has a blue plaque on the wall which will be very interesting to people who liked s certain children's TV series back in the day. It was certainly interesting to me when I was a kid! The place is congregated around a central brook, which looked little dry in places. It has plenty of thatched properties, including a bus shelter with a thatched roof which has been on it's current site since 1959. There's a massive recreation ground, home to the local cricket team, which has a pavilion that was rebuilt very recently. On The Causeway there used to be a bakery, and one of five pubs, of which only two remain now - The Poacher and The George and Dragon. The village has an annual show which includes baking and preserve making, and is crossed by The Pathfinder Way, a footpath that was created to link the Pathfinder RAF stations.
