Bacros.exe Windows Worm

The Bacros worm video is a long one, but a good one. The virus first gains access to a system when its infected file is run. It then displays a text message in notepad, listing the virus name several dozen times. After this, it checks for a CD-Burner, and if it is found, modifies it so that it will always drop the worm's file and an autorun file on every CD burned in the computer. It also infects all floppy disks used in the machine, and finally, it drops the Word Macro Virus Bacros.a to the system. After this, it adds keys to the registry that check the system date. On the first of every month, it overwrites all .GIF files with a small picture that says "Kuole Jehova", or "Kill Jehova" in Finnish. After this, these files cannot be recovered. The worm then stays dormant in the computer. When the 6th of December rolls around, it activates another payload. This payload changes the desktop background to a tiny image of the Finnish flag, as December 6th is Finland's independence day. Not bad so far. But the worst is yet to come, as the worm activates it's deadliest payload on December 25th, Christmas day. The worm overwrites all files on all available drives, prompting the warning messages you see from Windows that Operating System files have been replaced.
