In this episode, we complete our 14,000 km (8,700 miles) road trip starting just north of Whitehorse, Yukon, and heading all the way up to the Arctic Ocean, through Southeast Alaska, and back south through British Columbia along the scenic Stewart-Cassiar Highway. This epic journey, part of The Great Northern Project, spans from the 49th parallel at the Canada/US border to the 69th parallel at the end of the Dempster Highway and the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. We also explore remote Southeast Alaska and venture all the way to the North Pacific Ocean. After four years of planning and months of preparation, we hit the road for 10 weeks to experience some of the most stunning scenery in North America, crossing rugged terrain, fishing, camping, and capturing breathtaking photography along the way. Throughout this adventure, we explore over 150 fishable rivers and streams, many of which are easily accessible from the highways and backroads. We also follow the historic route of the Klondike Gold Rush, discovering hidden gems for camping, photography, and even vacation rentals—some of which I’ve professionally photographed as a Commercial Architectural Photographer. #ArcticRoadTrip #GreatNorthernProject #FishingAdventure #RVTravel #CampingLife #KlondikeGoldRush #SoutheastAlaska #PhotographyVlog #BackcountryCamping #StewartCassiarHighway #DempsterHighway #YukonAdventure #RoadTripVlog #Tuktoyaktuk SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS Website https://www.carstenarnold.com/fine-art Facebook / capturereeladventure SPONSORS Pacific Rivers Outfitting Company 45530 Vedder Mountain Road Chilliwack, BC, Canada 1-778-704-1481 https://www.pacificrivers.com/ / pacificriversoutfittingco Loop Tackle https://ca.looptackle.com/ / looptackle Photo Central 957 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada 1-204-774-4343 https://photocentral.ca/ / photocentralfotosource CLIENTS PHOTOGRAPHED ON THE GREAT NORTHERN PROJECT Episode 4 Banner Mountain Lodge 12753 Babine Lake Road, Smithers, BC (250) 846-5655 https://bannermountainlodge.com/ Round Lake Resort 20806 BC-16, Telkwa, BC (250) 846-9160 https://roundlakeresort.com/ BBQ BEER BREAD Place wire rack over bbq grille to prevent bread burning Place tin foil under the wire rack for further burn protection Preheat bbq to 375 degrees In a large bowl mix together: 2 1/2 cups bread flour (or 50/50 of white and whole wheat bread flour) 3tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 2tbsp sugar Mix well Add 1 bottle or can of your favourite beer Optional: add 1 cup each of your favourite seeds Mix with a spatula Add 1 tbsp oil and water if the batter is too dry Butter a bread pan well to prevent the bread from sticking when done Melt butter and baste the top of the dough Bake for 50-60 minutes Let stand to cool before devouring 0:00 - INTRO 3:00 - Dawson City 5:55 - Top of the World Highway 8:02 - Dempster Highway 17:01 - Inuvik, NWT 21:24 - Tuktoyaktuk, NWT 22:10 - Arctic Ocean! 31:53 - Whitehorse 33:57 - Kluane Lake 45:14 - Alaska 47:03 - McCarthy 52:18 - Kennecott Mine 56:40 - Valdez 1:03:04 - Haines 1:04:01 - Grizzlies! 1:08:27 - Skagway 1:10:54 - Carcross/Atlin 1:14:48 - Surprise! 1:16:06 - Kluane Lake 1:17:33 - Heading home 1:23:37 - Scrappy Larry 1:32:20 - Stewart/Hyder 1:33:20 - Grizzly! 1:37:18 - Homeward bound 1:38:26 - Homecoming!
