My first day exploring El Nido, Palawan started with a breathtaking view at El Nido Port and ended with a peaceful sunset at Lio Beach. In this travel vlog, I’m sharing a slow and simple afternoon discovering one of the most beautiful destinations in the Philippines. After spending my first day in Puerto Princesa, I traveled to El Nido by bus and checked into my Airbnb in the afternoon. Even though it was a bit late in the day, the first thing I wanted to do was walk to the beach and see El Nido for the first time. Seeing the limestone cliffs, clear blue water, and boats along the coast at El Nido Port honestly felt surreal. I grew up on a small island myself, so I thought I was already used to beautiful coastlines but El Nido managed to surprise me. Later that afternoon, I grabbed a late lunch before taking the free shuttle to Lio Beach. I arrived just in time for sunset, and it was easily one of the most peaceful moments of the day. I stayed a little longer to enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants there and had some really good seafood before heading back to my Airbnb for the night. It was a slow and simple first day in El Nido since I only arrived around 2 PM, but sometimes these quiet and unplanned travel days turn out to be the most memorable parts of a trip. And yes, El Nido is indeed worth the hype. No doubt. In the next vlog, I’ll finally be experiencing El Nido island hopping, one of the most popular things to do in Palawan.
