The Mass of Consolation began in August 2017 and completed in January 2018. It simply began with a prayerful experience at the piano which eventually morphed into The Mass of Consolation. With the help of many friends and colleagues, I continued to move forward with the Mass Setting, answering God's calling to finish the composition and share it with as many people as possible. Named after Our Lady of Consolation, I give much credit for the intercession of Our Lady for her guidance, prayers, and consolation throughout this process. Jack Gerding, the choir director at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, OH, has been so kind and generous of his time and talents to allow all of this to happen. From helping with rehearsals to reserving the beautiful basilica, Jack has played a huge role in the success of this Mass Setting.
