Just before Hurricane Helene hit, we visited McDowell County, and spent 5 days exploring Old Fort, Marion, Little Switzerland, Nebo, and Lake James. We ate, hiked, found waterfalls, visited shops, breweries, wineries, and much more! Hurricane Helene hit McDowell county very hard, especially Old Fort and Little Switzerland.
