In my early days in the Leica system, I was scraping by to get my hands on any piece of gear that I could use and still have a Leica M camera. The 7Artisans 35mm f/1.4 Wen was the first lens of theirs that really caught my eye as something different from the others. It’s unique styling and build quality had me intrigued and at $429, while it’s not the most inexpensive lens in the world, for an M-mount lens, it seemed like an amazing option for someone’s first Leica lens. I’ve also compared it to the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon.
