This has been the holy grail for a long time. We've talked about smart appliances for a decade now, and they're becoming smarter and smarter. The AI-enabled washing machine can identify if you have jeans or towels or sheets in there and set it at the right settings. But now, with CLOiD can take it from the washer and put it in the dryer and then ultimately fold it. Now, it's not going to fold everything just yet, but this is an example, a sneak peek at the future." 14. Various of CLOiD moving laundry bin to allow robot vacuum cleaner to drive by 15. We don't have an introduction schedule yet for this in the United States, but the technology has moved so fast and so far in just a short period of time. This is really a sneak peek at what's coming in the future. Again, the combination of advanced robotics technology and how AI, which we call 'affectionate intelligence', ties it all together with every appliance in your home." 18. LG is yet to announce a release date for the helpful droid - named CLOiD - but says it is a “sneak peek at the future." STORYLINE: Meet CLOiD .... a robot to do your washing, your dishes, and even put the dinner on while you are on the way home. LG's new AI powered home assistant is promising consumers a 'Zero Labor Home'. "This is really the result of seven years of research and commercialization of a wide range of robots for industrial and commercial purposes, now showing the future of robotics in the home,” says John Taylor, senior vice president of LG Electronics USA. CLOiD had been designed to operate across multiple connected devices in the home. Its arms are capable of matching the mobility of a human arm, according to LG, with working shoulder, elbow and wrist movements that allow forward, backward, rotational and lateral motion. Its hands have five independently actuated fingers to enable it to handle a wide range of home appliances and, according to LG, tackle housework in kitchens, laundry rooms and living areas. "My favorite (thing) is when CLOid actually folds the towels. This has been the holy grail for a long time,” says Taylor.
