The Felsenweg or Strohmeyer path is one of the most demanding hiking trails in the Vosges, with great views and partly alpine character, which is why sure-footedness and good shoes are required. The path should not necessarily be walked in rain or wet conditions, it is partially closed in wintry conditions. In connection with the path on the Vosges ridge above, there is a nice round trip. Start: Col de la Canyon, large parking lot Distance: 10 km Duration: 4.5 hours Elevation meters: 564 Difficulty: moderately difficult, sure-footedness required and a certain level of fitness for the steep ascent Marking: good, initially blue markings, later yellow markings Time: April - November GPX route: https://www.outdooractive.com/de/rout... The circular hike starts at the Col de lagorge, where there is a large car park. The Felsenweg begins directly behind the Hôtel Restaurant Du Chalet and climbs slightly downhill over a simple, narrow forest path. Then the rock path begins, which leads along the rock walls again and again, partly secured with railings, through a rock hole and over stone steps, this part is about 2.5 km long and ends at the Krappenfels. Shortly thereafter, you can either climb steeply here in the direction of the Ferme Auberge Trois Fours (refreshments available), or follow the forest path to the clearing and the Ferme Auberge Frankenthal, and just before you turn onto the mountain path in the direction of Col de Falimont. This is marked Sentier Difficile (difficult path) as it climbs steeply up stone steps and stairways in serpentines. At the top we make a detour to the Hohneck summit, the third highest mountain in the Vosges (1363 m), you can also stop here. Then it goes flat on the wide ridge path in the direction of Martinswand with beautiful views along the way, and to the Ferme Auberge Trois Fours. From there it goes via a beautiful forest path to a last vantage point and then back to the parking lot in 10 minutes.
