Transport: Getting to the trailhead at Xiao Xueshan tourist info center (小雪山旅遊訊展) is pretty easy if you have a vehicle as it’s a pleasant 40km drive up the Daxueshan Forest Road (大雪山林道) starting in Dongshi (東勢). Entry into the national park costs NT$200 per adult and NT$100 per vehicle. If you don’t drive, the 889 bus makes regular trips up to the tourist info centre.
