Saturday April 30th marked Yarn shop day here in the UK which could mean only one thing. I had to visit my local yarn shop 'All Tangled Up'! At the same time 'The Little Grey Girl' had a visiting trunk show at 'The Yarn Dispensary' in Faversham so naturally I decided to make a weekend of it and visit both shops for very different reasons. All Tangled Up is only a 7 minute drive or 30minute walk from my home and I have come to call it my happy place. Simply due to the fact that every time I visit, I'm greeted with smiling faces of the owners Helen and Julie, and am able to sit in their seating area and crochet/knit to my hearts content. I get to meet lots of people, talk all things yarn and even help out if needed as I feel they have become my friends and I want to see them succeed. I bagged a large quantity of King Cole Bramble to make a cardigan and a ball of Cherished 'Lemon' to add to some I purchased previously for a granny square blanket. It was such a lovely busy day and we very much enjoyed spending our day there chatting and making. On the Sunday I took my parents to Faversham for another day out and visited @theyarndispensaryfaversham3779 to see Gem of The Little Grey Girl and her pop up shop, along with Gemma of @TheMidnightDyery who is the manager of the Dispensary. I hadn't mentioned I was visiting so I was able to surprise Gemma and then Julia popped in to surprise me too which was amazing! My purchases from The Yarn Dispensary were 2 balls of West Yorkshire Spinners Re-treat yarn, 2 balls of WYS stripey Bo Peep DK, and one ball of red macrame cord as well as a cute sheepy notebook to keep knitting notes on my cardigan. From The Little Grey Girl I purchased the 4 bag tags I had originally planned to get and added a new buzzy bees project bag to my haul too. Our trip wasn't just limited to the store though as we also took a walk through the market to pick up some pastries and cheesecake, and had a lovely hot beverage at one of the local cafes. My dad purchased a puzzle, then a little froggy pendant/brooch pin for myself, mum bought us chips and then dad picked up 3 beautiful watercolour paintings too before we headed back home. All in all, I had a lovely yarny weekend, got to spend time with friends, meet new people and spend some quality time with my parents too.
