Rising above the mighty Batang Lupar River — this is Malaysia’s tallest and second-longest span cable-stayed bridge, the Batang Lupar Bridge No. 2 in Sarawak! Connecting Sri Aman and Betong, this landmark structure is transforming Sarawak’s transport network, seamlessly linking the Coastal Highway and the Pan Borneo Highway. When completed in 2026, this engineering marvel will cut travel distance from 71 km to just 28 km, reducing travel time by half — from one hour to only 30 minutes! Spanning 870 meters with two 145.5-meter towers and 2.1 kilometers of approach roads, the bridge stands as a symbol of Sarawak’s rapid development and forward-looking vision. The project is implemented by JKR Sarawak and designed by KTA (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, with Naim Gamuda JV (NAGA) as the main contractor. Together, they are delivering one of Malaysia’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.
