"Darkness Falls" & "Faint Courage" - Deltarune | Piano Arrangement

An arrangement of two tracks from Deltarune for piano. T H E N T H E W O R L D W A S C O V E R E D I N D A R K N E S S . I discovered "Darkness Falls" after watching my friend quit the game after fighting Spamton, so I'd originally thought it was a new track, but it actually also plays in Chapter 1 if you quit the game. It's a pretty obscure piece to be sure! Interestingly, its B section shares the same leitmotif as the game over theme from Chapter 2, "Faint Courage". In Chapter 1's game over screen, the menu ambience plays instead. Whether Toby intentionally made the decision to change the game over screens between chapters is a mystery to me. It seems that Gaster(?) speaks for Chapter 1's game over screen while Susie or Ralsei speak in Chapter 2. Compositionally, the game over theme sounds similar to Undertale's equivalent, "Determination". There's a cool contrast between their titles, being opposites of each other. In "Darkness Falls", there's also what might be a reference to Gaster's theme in the A section. Composed by Toby Fox. "Darkness Falls" is track 31 from the Chapter 1 OST. "Faint Courage" is track 16 from the Chapter 2 OST.
