Without intervention, many of these pets never get the chance to experience life outside those walls. This reality is what drove Allison Eastwood, founder of Eastwood Ranch Foundation, to take action. In 2012, after witnessing firsthand the struggles within the shelter system, Allison decided to be part of the solution. She launched Eastwood Ranch Foundation (ERF), a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and rehoming at-risk animals. A Safe Haven, Not Just a Shelter Unlike traditional shelters, Eastwood Ranch Rescue & Adoption Center in Agoura Hills is a sanctuary—a place where animals can recover from trauma, rebuild their confidence, and prepare for their new forever homes. At ERF, every rescued animal receives medical care, behavioral support, and the time they need to decompress from fear and stress. Once at the ranch, dogs and cats experience kindness, companionship, and healing. Dogs spend their days interacting with other rescued dogs, volunteers, and potential adopters, while cats enjoy their own private building, designed to provide a peaceful and loving atmosphere. For the first time, these animals can show their true personalities, free from the anxiety of shelter life. Volunteers and staff witness incredible transformations—timid dogs learning to trust again, frightened cats curling up in laps, and playful moments that reveal the joy and spirit these animals have held inside all along. Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Rehoming: The ERF Process At Eastwood Ranch Foundation, the mission is simple but powerful: ✅ Rescue the most at-risk pets from overcrowded shelters. ✅ Provide essential medical care and rehabilitation. ✅ Allow each animal time to recover from past trauma. ✅ Match them with loving adopters who will provide a forever home.
