The CSX YN2 Finally Departs, a CSX GP38 Rebuild, P51 with an Operation Lifesaver Runs Long Hood

We start this video with the CSX freight with the YN2 and older model units finally coupling up to the rest of their train and heading out of Atlanta. We follow them around the bend at Howell wye. While that's passing we catch yet another westbound NS auto rack with a single unit up front and a mid train DPU. Meanwhile on the CSX wye the freight we saw earlier with the GP38 rebuild sits waiting for the other freight to finally clear the main. Once that's clear the GP38 train heads north. The rear of the train is all auto racks and we're out of drone batteries so we shoot the tail with the iPhone before packing up and getting ready to head out. But wait! There's more! Before we can pull away we hear the sound of diesels approaching. It's P51 with a load of interesting power. First is a plain old GE but it's heading long hood forward, then there's an EMD rebuild followed by a GP38 with Operation Lifesaver logo and then a slug set. Definitely worth staying for. It's a short train but wait! There's more! Along comes an NS freight barreling out of the west with and EMD second. Half way down the train is an old Southern two bay covered hopper and a Norfolk and Western covered hopper. Very nice! The action never stops at Howell wye.
