I had to do it with him. Specter Knight is on the higher rungs of Targets viability. With that said, playing this character for me is constant anxiety because of his tricky movement. His ground slashes are fast with decent range. You can slash in the air, but it has very niche scenarios due to being overridden by his air slash (would be good if you could slash normally while in the air). His air slash helps finish chains and acts as his recovery. This move cannot be spammed since the reticle is not the most accurate, getting hit by bombs or misdirecting your attacks. The move is also finicky against beetos, so I don't hold a direction after a jump slash because of beeto jank. His throwing sickle is a good boomerang projectile, helping his range and precision. Be careful of where you throw it because it's a lingering projectile. His recovery via hover plume is easily accessible and can be combined with his air slash. Most of the stress and issues with Specter's movement is his affinity to climb the side platforms. You have to know when to stop holding a directional input. He is still a fun character with very few changes in the transition from Specter of Torment to Showdown. Once again, shoutouts to Zappetizer's original 1,282,040 Specter Knight run from April 8, 2021.
