Eddie was inspired by Bruce Lee and began his martial arts journey with Philip Skornia, a traditional martial artist. However, After witnessing Royce Gracie dominate the cage with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Eddie decided to pursue the same path and left Master Skornia behind.
