“‘Resurrection,’ someone once wrote, ‘is for both sides of the tomb.’ This has been my lived experience after burying my eldest child who drowned and battling up from valley of death and out of its grave of heartache. I hope to share with our Women’s Conference community that while even the joy of the Gospel does not silence sorrow, there exists the miraculous possibility that with God’s grace guiding our agency even unbearable grief can invite growth, and that loss can beget life.”—Melissa Dalton-Bradford Session Description: While we know that grief, sorrow, and loss are an important part of mortality, because these feelings are so personal they can be difficult to understand and process. We may wonder if our feelings are valid and if life will ever go on in a new, normal way. This session is intended to provide solace and hope for sisters in any circumstance of grief and loss and to encourage them to keep going and keep seeking for the hope and peace that is promised through Jesus Christ because of His Atonement. We will discuss the real and valid feelings that accompany grief and loss and how to work through the cycle of grief and ultimately find hope, healing, and peace. Questions to ponder: What can I learn from grief and loss? How can I find peace when my heart is hurting so much? When might I need to seek help from a qualified mental health professional to help me process my grief? How can I deal with loss, grief, and challenges with an eternal perspective?
