Padron Family Reserve No. 85 Natural Cigars Unboxing & Reboxing

Jose Orlando Padron came from Cuba in the early 20th century with a pocket full of ambition but not much else. He collected government money reluctantly for years until one day his friend gave him a hammer. Padron worked a regular job and as a side hustle did some repair and building work using the hammer his friend gave him. Today that hammer is a symbol of success and a story that every Padron family member has heard millions of times in their lives. They hold that hammer near and dear. There's even a cigar that they named the "Hammer". We'll address that cigar in a separate video. For now, we address the cigar in this video. This particular cigar, known as Padron No. 85, was released to commemorate Jose Orlando Padron's 85th birthday. In the past, Padron would number their cigars using the amount of years that Padron has been in and/or doing business. For example, they had a No. 45 and a No. 47. They decided to do it different with this release. The tobacco in this cigar has been aged for 10 years. It is quite the refined cigar. And like all Padrons, it is quite special too. All the cigar magazines and websites have rated this cigar at least a 90 or more. And rightfully so. It's an exquisite cigar. It's as close as you get to perfect when it comes to cigars. Quite frankly, I feel bad for people who only smoke Padron. It's an interesting thought. Every Padron is exactly the same as its sister in that particular series or release. It is so ridiculously reliable that you know every time you fire up a Padron 85, it will taste and smoke exactly like the last one you had and next one you will have. My personal opinion is that you only get that with Padron- that reliability is something proprietary to Padron and something only Padron provides to its customers. Any other cigar, you will most likely have a different experience with each individual cigar. That's not the case with Padron. They are extremely consistent. Now, this whole consistency thing may not be such a bad thing. There are people who hate change and cannot live without consistency. This is the perfect cigar for those people. In my case, I have a Padron every so often because I don't want to be spoiled by that reliability and consistency. I have a Padron when I need reliability and consistency, which is not everyday. That's when I reach for a Padron.
