In this leather craft video, watch the restoration of a vintage WWII Robeson Shuredge No. 20 Mk1 U.S. Navy knife. The hardest part was recreating the original wood pommel, which had cracked over time (they had to switch to wood later in the war as the use of strategic materials like aluminum became restricted.) This involved a bit of woodworking, melting metal, and casting tools. Follow that up with the stacked leather handle. It's always interesting to see how many NON Ka-Bar knives were used during the war! The knife's leather sheath was as close to a 1-to-1 recreation as I was able to make it.
