O823 is a turn job based out of Tampa carrying empty Tropicana cars south from Tampa to Bradenton, and loaded back north. I had gotten up early to see them today knowing the time can vary when they get into Bradenton, so I played it safe. Unfortunately, as soon as I was pulling into my spot, the gates were going down and it coming in. After that small let down, I decided I would wait for them to head back north because I did want to see them. So I had waited about another three and a half hours until something finally happened, longer than I had expected but they finally got rolling north in the mid morning. Just under two weeks later on June 10th, 2020, I went again. This time I had heard the consist on today's was pretty good, something you don't see on CSX in 2020. Today's consisted of CSXT 4527, an EMD SD70MACe, CSXT 8360, an EMD SD40-2, and CSXT 801, a GE ES44AH. I had gotten up earlier this time to see them because I did not want to have the same thing happen to me again where I missed them by a minute. So I had a long wait for them coming in but I would rather wait than miss them. A little after sun rise is when they showed up with the power as planned. After this it was time to go home as I would not wait for them to go North. I will be shooting this train probably a good amount over the summer, so stay tuned for more. Enjoy!
