This morning we pay tribute to the life and character of Rabbi Pinchas Hirschprung (born in Dukla, now part of Poland), a towering and unique leader in the Montreal Jewish community for decades, whose Yartzeit was last Friday. I share a bit about his early life, and how he came to Montreal. Then I share stories from his family and closest students about the true focus of his life - his kindness and openness to every person. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation. We take great pleasure in welcoming everyone with a warm smile, while sharing inspiration through prayer, study, and friendship.
