These Hoe cakes are so good, made with no flour, no sugar, only corn meal, so good for gluten free folks, George Washington ate these every morning, put on some butter, some syrup, and you are good to go, so delicious, and VERY FILLING Here is the recipe: 1/2 t active dry yeast 2 1/2 c white corn meal, divided 3-4 cups Luke warm water 1/2 t salt 1 egg lightly beaten melted butter and honey or maple syrup Mix the yeast and 1 1/4 c cornmeal add 1 c lukewarm water, stir, cover with plastic wrap and put in the fridge over night, add the rest of the ingredients , cover with a towel for 15 minutes, then cook on the grill, and eat them up.
