Welcome to video 3, the final video of the series.. Just as I was getting to the end of the weaving process I had the idea to try to add a backrest to the net. This was a spur of the moment decision and I really didn't know how it would turn out but because I had enough material left over I decided to give it a try. The backrest went together very easily actually and it makes a HUGE difference in how you can use the net and the comfort when hanging out in it. For me this is a "must have" feature. I can envision it as also being removable so that it can be moved to different sides of the net but for now this one is permanently attached to the perimeter. I only added a little more of the thiner 1.5mm cord to the big net construction and then decided to call it finished. Material purchased and cost: 4mm 25m - €7.99 x 4 = €31.96 1.5mm 50m - €5.80 x 2 = €9.60 10mm 15m - €17.00 x1 = €17.00 Ratchet Straps €12.50 x 3 = €37.50 Total material cost: €96.06 I did not used all of the 4mm or all of the 1.5mm so that is why I estimated the total building cost to be around €80. For future nets I will not have to purchase the ratchet straps again only the materials to build the net itself so the next net could potentially cost around €50.
