Has anyone ever made a comment about your food choices that caused you to feel bad? You are not alone! This talk will explore the impact of negative comments and how they can sabotage your relationship with food. It will provide practical tips on navigating these comments. It will also discuss why labeling foods as "good" or "bad" can negatively influence how you view and choose foods and ultimately take the joy out of eating. You will learn ways to avoid implementing food rules and reimage ways to view and enjoy food. You deserve to eat all types of food without feeling guilt or shame. And remember that the moments we share over food and the connections we make with friends and family at a meal are more important than the food in front of you! Christine McCarthy Clark is a registered dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor. She has worked at colleges and in hospitals for many years, educating and counseling. Christine's approach involves meeting people where they are and helping them develop a healthy relationship with food and their body. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
