When idle hands wear weathered gloves and are unfastened from a tethered head, the mind plays with the objects it loves, and in the stillness of the flesh it feeds on unrest, portals to the fiery places of fear, and it’s there where temptation waits. When I’m nearest to the test, I find myself holding onto doubt; the devil’s deed clutching the keys to the doors of deceit, and there I am, baited when I am weak. So my soul falls like hearts worn out on sleeves when it loves what is lower as though it were sewn into the seams it seems, like fault lines, the cracks in ice, that break up by fire beneath, and his, the devil’s heart, it leaks, damaged, a demiurge left on this Earth to greet the mirror for prideful conceit, and a self worshiping false belief. Do your best not to disappear for the erasure survivalist might find himself running to stand still, rolling over to lie down, working the body so much that bleeding out until coagulation become hardened enough to build out your shelter then you may sleep in safety and dream and get restorative rest so you can convince yourself to do it again the next day when you awake again and need to power up reboot and tell yourself it's something you want to do Do your best not to disappear, because the erasure survivalist runs only to stand still, rolls over only to lie down. He works the body until it bleeds, until coagulation hardens enough to become shelter. Only then is there sleep. Only then is there safety enough to dream, enough rest to restore what was spent. Morning comes again. Power up. Reboot. Convince yourself it is chosen, that this repetition is will and not surrender, that today, again, you want to do it. A thought for those furious about Davos, elites, power, and influence. Criticize corruption where it exists, absolutely. But be honest with yourself about something deeper. Are you objecting to real evil, or are you nursing envy dressed up as virtue? Jesus warned directly about this. "You shall not covet." Not your neighbors ox, not his house, not his position. Covetousness poisons judgment. It turns resentment into a worldview and excuses irresponsibility as righteousness. Every civilization has elites. The only real question is whether they are competent or destructive. History is clear on this. When elites fall, mobs do not create justice. They create chaos, then tyranny. If you want influence, there is a path. Work. Study. Build something that functions. Write something coherent. Carry responsibility. Jesus did not flatter grievance. He formed leaders. Fishermen became apostles through discipline, not rage. Protest if you must, but ask yourself one hard question. What am I actually building? If the answer is nothing, then this is not moral courage. It is consumption of outrage. Peace is not a slogan. Peace requires deterrence, borders, memory, and truth. Ukraine chose Europe. Russia chose tanks. Hamas chose massacre and rape. Israel chose survival. "By their fruits you shall know them." Love your neighbor does not mean romanticizing criminals or excusing repeat violence. Love protects the innocent. Love restrains evil. Love tells the truth even when it costs. If Davos offends you, do not sneer from below. Contribute from where you stand. Argue rationally. Lay out pros and cons. Engage reality instead of tearing down symbols. Christ does not call us to envy. He calls us to responsibility. Stop coveting. Start carrying something heavy.
