Snorkelling at Heron Island

Heron island is a real paradise with so much marine life that it is simply hard to believe. The island is situated on the Heron Reef, which is a home for 900-1,500 fish species and 72% of the coral species of the Great Barrier Reef. Thousands of Turtles visit the island every year to lay eggs and their hatching is a spectacular experience for tourists. Needless to say, this island is a popular destination for scuba diving and snorkelling. In my previous video I showed what you can see when scuba diving at this amazing place. However, if you haven't yet completed your scuba certification, don't worry! Turtles, reef sharks, sting rays and huge schools of colourful fish can be seen here just in shallow waters without any need for scuba equipment.
