Mamata VS BJP: Mamata shows photo of PM Seated With President, Hits Back At Humiliation Charge

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has responded to criticism over her absence from the 9th International Santali Convention attended by the President. Showing a photograph in which the Prime Minister is seated while the President is standing, Banerjee said, 'Now you're saying I have humiliated the Prime Minister. How can I go there? I am sitting at a dharna and I'm fighting for all here.' She added, 'Whenever the election comes, they blame us.' The Trinamool Congress has maintained that the Chief Minister was engaged in other activities and that no protocol was breached, as the event was private with no intimation given to the state government. The Prime Minister had earlier launched a scathing attack on Banerjee, accusing her of humiliating not only the President but also the tribal community.
