Want to make an explosion of color in your kitchen? This simple experiment will teach you how to do just that. Chemistry is fun! What you will need: 1 cup of whole milk 1 teaspoon dish soap 1 Q-tip red, yellow, blue food coloring salad plate How to do it: 1. Pour milk onto plate to cover bottom completely. 2. Put a drop of each color of food coloring to make a triangle in the middle of the plate. 3. Dip your Q-tip into the dish soap. 4. Slowly put the Q-tip with the dish soap into the center of the colors. Be sure to hold it there - do NOT stir. Watch the color explosion! It will go for a couple minutes if you be sure not to stir it. Science Fair Project Ideas: Try different types of milk or soap to see what happens and what works best. Enjoy the color magic!
