Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this Montagne operator guide. Montagne is an offensive operator that is a part of the GIGN CTU. Also I'm probably miss pronouncing his name, I'm not french so I apologize for my mispronunciation. For his primaries Montagne can only equip his extendable shield, this is his only choice since he is a shield operator. As for his secondaries you do have a choice between the P9 handgun and the LFP586 revolver. The LFP revolver has a smaller magazine capacity, but does more damage. The P9 has a larger magazine and a faster firing rate, but does less damage than the LFP. Its also important to note that the LFP has some pretty intense recoil and may take a long time to master, so if you're not very good at controlling recoil I highly suggest you take the P9 over the LFP. Now for my personal opinion. I prefer the P9, because there is less recoil so I control it much easier and the larger magazine allows me to miss a few shots without being punished too heavily. As for secondary gadgets Montagne can equip flash grenades or smoke grenades. This really comes down to personal preference. The smoke grenades can be used to give you extra cover since you are slow. However I suggest the flash grenades, since they can put your enemy off their edge and make obtaining that one lethal headshot much easier. Now to Montagne's special ability. His special ability is actually his shield called Le Roc, I'm probably mispronouncing that as well, but anyways when you press the special ability button his shield will extened and cover his entire front side, making him nearly invincible from the front. Its important to note that you can only extend the shield while standing and that when the shield is extended you cannot shoot your pistol or shield bash. So basically you have really you a few options. The first option, the one I recommend if you are playing by yourself and dont feel like talking to your team, is that you can become a distraction for your team. Extend your shield and find the enemy, once you've done this make sure they dont get to your sides or your back and just block their bullets until your team mates flank the enemy and kill them. Another great option, one to use if you're communicating with your team or a friend, is to be basically mobile cover for your team. Tell your team where you are going to stand, once you find an enemy tell them which direction you are going to move to give them line of sight on the enemy. Then you just simple move and the team mate using you as cover will take his or her shot and hopefully kill the enemy. Those are just some simple stratiegies you can use. Now for the combos and counters. Montagne combos well with most offensive operators since he really just relies on good team work which is really determined by the players not the operators. Now he does have a few counters. One great counter to Montagne is Smoke. He can use his gas canisters to damage Montagne when he has his shield extended. Another great counter to Montagne is Frost. She counters him well since her traps can down him even if his shield is extended all he has to do is step on the trap. Thank you for watching this operator guide!
