This pre-decimal coin was worth 1/10 of a pound and features the Tudor rose surrounded by national emblems of the United Kingdom: the thistle of Scotland, the shamrock of Ireland, and the leek of Wales. On the obverse, it carries Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait by Arnold Machin. Struck in cupro-nickel after silver was removed from circulation in 1947, the 1967 Florin is part of the final series before decimalisation in 1971, when it was replaced by the 10-pence coin.
