Healing of the family tree. Live Sunday Service 12 May 2024 Sermon Title: Healing the Family Tree* By: Archbishop Zondo My beloved congregation, today we gather in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to delve into the profound topic of healing the family tree. As we embark on this spiritual journey together, let us open our hearts and minds to receive the blessings and insights that the Holy Scriptures offer. First and foremost, let us remember the words of wisdom: "Whatever you do in Christ and do it with the name of Jesus, whatsoever that will be it will benefit you." These words remind us of the boundless grace and mercy available to us through our Savior. Healing of the family tree is not merely a ceremonial act but a profound spiritual service aimed at invoking the healing blood of Jesus across our generational line. As it is written in Lamentations 5:7, "Heal us, O Lord, and we shall be healed; save us, and we shall be saved, for you are our praise." The Scriptures teach us about the sinful ways of our forefathers and the repercussions of their actions upon us. Yet, let us not forget that the enemy we do not know is often more perilous than the one we do. In our family bloodlines, curses, evil tendencies, and blessings often intertwine. Through the healing of the family tree, we seek to uplift the burdens that weigh upon our bodies, minds, and spirits. This can only be accomplished through the transformative power of the blood of Jesus, as revealed in Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 18:20, and Exodus 20:5. Parents, while they may not bear the punishment for their children's wrongdoings, can influence them toward sinful desires. Therefore, let us exercise caution and wisdom in our actions, even as we seek to protect our children's futures. In matters of marriage, the institution ordained by God, precautions such as prenuptial agreements may be necessary to safeguard the lives and well-being of both spouses and their children. Sacrificial offerings hold tremendous power, as exemplified by the wisdom of King Solomon. It is not the outward appearance that defines success but the integrity and character that one demonstrates. Covenant, my dear brethren, is not founded on similarities but on the acceptance and celebration of our differences. Let us embrace diversity and unity in the body of Christ. To avoid inheriting the flames of our parents' mistakes, let us seek the guidance and protection of the Almighty. And let us never, under any circumstance, disrespect the sanctity of the Holy altar of the Lord, as admonished in Deuteronomy 28:60. Finally, remember that the power of the Gospel can liberate us from the chains of our family history, as declared in John 15. As we prepare for the healing of our family tree, let us first examine the dominant traits and issues that prevail within our families. This introspection will serve as the foundation upon which our journey to spiritual renewal and healing shall commence. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
