Amy Farah Weiss is the founder and director of Saint Francis Challenge, a nonprofit launched in San Francisco in 2015 that works to end street homelessness and build a movement of resident stewardship through the co-creation of “BEST Places” — communities of Belonging, Essential Needs, Shared Agreements, and Teamwork. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz in the late ’90s and later a master’s degree in Organizational Development from San Francisco State. She now lives in New Mexico, where she leads a Resident Steward Trainee pilot at supported housing and shelter sites working in partnership with the City of Santa Fe.
